Successful start in the Halberstadt Cathedral Museum
Since the opening of the new exhibition in the Halberstadt Cathedral Museum, visitors have had the electronic guide, DigiTour, to escort them on their tours. They can explore the extensive exhibit of art from the Middle Ages on their own, and are delighted by the unusually accessible information.
The guide has explanations of more than seventy artworks and themes in both English and German. The contents are retrieved by using the touch-sensitive screen of the PDA to access the sophisticated graphic interface. The users decide, by touching the screen, what information they want.
Additional pictures on the screen offer surprising insights. For example, on the screen, you can open the locks and doors of the closed reliquary cupboard that once contained the treasures of the Cathedral. The view of the reconstructed interior of the shrine shows the past splendor of icons and gilded pewter stars against a luminous blue background.
On a DigiTour, you experience more!
